About the author

Francis Hoar was called to the Bar in 2001 and practises in public and commercial law and in criminal and civil fraud and areas of quasi criminal law.  He has previously served as an elected member of the Criminal Bar Association committee, where he contributed to its representations on law reform.  A contributor to the Modern Law Review, Counsel, The Local Government Lawyer,  the Huffington Post, Conservative Home and BBC Radio 5 Live, a recent article (on witness anonymity) was cited in the House of Commons research paper on the Coroners and Justice Bill (now Act) 2009.  He is the author of a chapter (on a British Bill of Rights) of The State of Civil Liberties in Britain (Biteback Publications, 2011).
